From book publicist Barbara Wall, VP of The Barrett Company PR firm
If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
The past I think....the 40s and 50s styles were so very cool. I like the casual and elegant ladies clothes and gigantic cars like Cadillacs with fins. I am a huge fan of "Leave It To Beaver" on retro TV cable channels.
If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?
Meryl Streep, Greta Van Sustern, Bill O'Reilly, Harrison Ford and Dean Koontz
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?
My I-Phone, my media contact lists and a good unread book.
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Vanilla Fudge Ripple from Ben & Jerrys
If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
Coco Chanel
What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
A cup of black coffee and vanilla nonfat yogurt
Night owl, or early bird?
I am defintely a night owl
One food you would never eat?
Broccoli – I like it, but it doesn’t like me!
Pet Peeves?
Road hogs on California freeways and other forms of assorted rudeness
What's one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Educate yourself on the revolution in the publishing biz and how it works before you do anything else
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
I am a California native....I cannot imagine living anywhere else but here, although I have traveled all over the USA, parts of Asia and Europe too.
Favorite Food?
A healthy California omelet at The Montecito (CA) Inn and a chunky Chicken Pot Pie
Favorite Candy?
Pay Day (salt and sugar)!
What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
"The Descendants" from Geoerge Clooney
If you were a bird, which one would you be?
A Roadrunner...I had a wild Roadrunner for a “pet” at my Palm Springs home and he was so much fun...so smart and social too. They also take care of pests and rodents – they eat them! But they like people…go figure.
You have won one million dollars what is the first thing that you would buy?
Something frivilous
What do you do in your free time?
Reading and watching PBS' "Antiques Road Show," Fox News or a good movie on Turner Movie Classics channel. Traveling is also high up there on my list of "free time" activities, espefcially trips to the California desert areas
Favorite places to travel?
Paris, Hong Kong, Hawaii, New York and all over California too.

My current tablet cannot utilize all the cool apps on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to share reading with my 3 1/2 year old son on the interactive Kindle Fire. Plus, he really loves the learning game apps that are available on these types of tablets.
ReplyDeleteA lot of the "like this fb" seem to be broken. Not sure if it's me or the giveaway form...Is there a page with the links of all the FBs to like?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win a Kindle Fire because they seem awesome. I'd love to be able to read on the go, and all of the other awesome features. It'd be such an awesome device to own, and I've never owned the latest gadgets in technology, so for once it'd be nice to actually own something that's "in" instead of finally getting it three years later...when the next big new awesome thing is already in everyone else's hands :D
Thanks for the giveaway!
I'd love to have a kindle fire for reading and games.
ReplyDeleteI love amazon and reading!
ReplyDeleteThe Kindle Fire can do so many more things than my 1st generation Nook. I love my Nook but Kindle opens up more possibilities for me. I would love to win one so I can download my Kindle books from my PC!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a wonderful interview and Kindle giveaway! I wish you continued success and happiness.

There are so many books that I could have that I don't have room in my house for. And, I could carry my library around with me instead of one book at a time.

Truthfully, I can't pry my husband's Kindle out of his hands and there are lots of books I would like to read on the it instead of my itty bitty ipod. =)

ReplyDeleteThank you for this give away, I look forward to hearing more from you in the future. I'd like a kindle fire because I have started my own blog to promote other writers & illustrators. I hope to self publish my own children's book by the end of the year. I have illustrated for years & have always wanted to get into the publishing world. With all of the new developments in ebooks & self publishing, this seems like the time to do it.
ReplyDeleteI hope to hook up with a children's book writer that I can work with to illustrate their book as well.

I've never had an e-reader so it would be awesome to finally have one, thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a Kindle Fire to replace my first generation Kindle. That one would go to my daughter who just had to downsize into a much, much smaller house so has little room for her books. With a Kindle she could consolidate them. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI want to win a Kindle Fire, because they are AMAZING. I have one of those old bare bones Kindles, and have grown to LOVE reading ebooks. I'd love to be able to still see all the pretty covers. They are not so special on the Kindle, and I'm a very visual kind of person. The hardest thing about not reading tangible books has been my lack of cover art. I'm a graphic designer! I love art. :) I've been wanting to upgrade, but can't afford it. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDelete- Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl
I would suddenly have so much more room for books!

ReplyDelete-Maritza R
I want to win a Kindle Fire because I've been asking my mom for one for several months now cause I'm a BIG reader and no one really has time to take me to the bookstore or library anymore! They're either working or at school! So having this Kindle would really help me especially since I can bring it to school and buy books we'll be reading in English class instead of bugging my mom when she's busy to take me to the book store. :D
