Anne is trying her best to live a normal life, but she's still got some power sparking inside her. She's hearing and seeing things that she tries her best to ignore-like being haunted by a Russian sea nymph that claims the princess Anastasia is still alive.
That's when Ethan Kozninsky-he of the stunning blue eyes, thick brown hair, and former immortal status-returns. Anne soon realizes that everything she's been trying to forget might be impossible to bury.
Haunted is the sequel to Anastasia Dreaming by Joy Preble. I enjoyed this just as much the first book. This time we have Baba Yaga, Anne & Ethan as narrators. There will be a sequel and there are lots of unanswered questions but I was satisfied at the end of the book.
In Haunted we are introduced to Rusalkas - mythological mermaid like creatures. Anne is being "haunted" by one of them. We also have a little bit of a love triangle going on. This book picks up about 6 months after Anastasia Dreaming and Anne has found someone to spend her time with in Ethan's absence.
An enjoyable read I finished in one day. If you liked Anastasia Dreaming then you'll need to read this sequel.
Content: language although it seemed like a little less than in the first book, more groping hands and talk of sex.
