Benjamin Hyrum White was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He labored in the Colorado Denver North Mission and was employed at the MTC during college. Ben met his wife, Keenan, while they both were dancing with the International Folk Dance Ensemble at Brigham Young University. They each graduated from BYU with a degree in Family Science. Brother White is a seminary teacher and recently received his master’s degree in religious education from BYU, where he wrote the history of Preach My Gospel. Ben and Keenan reside in Orem, Utah, with their four children.

If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, David Cook, Mitt Romney, LeBron James, and my wife.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?

Cold cereal - hands down! I am a self proclaimed cereal connisseur.

If you could jump in to a book and live in that world, which would it be?

The land of Fablehaven or at the school of Hogwarts. I love a good fiction read.

What was your favorite book when you were a teen?
Dragonlance by Tracy Hickman

What's the craziest writing idea you've had?

I want to write a book called The Mystery of the Greenleaf Cop about some kids who try to discover the enigma surrounding the speed limit in a small town of western Idaho.

What's the best advice anyone has ever given you?

A happy wife is a happy life

Pets? - childhood or adult

I love cats. I had 2 as a teenager and hopefully will have more but I have family that is allergic. I will name them Hopak and Opanke (folk dance references from when my wife and I danced at BYU)

Favorite place you've been and/or would like to go

Toss up between Dublin Ireland and Maui Hawai'i. I would love to go on a tour of the Church history sites one day - especially Nauvoo and the Sacred Grove.

Happiest moment in your life so far

Being sealed to my wife in the Boise Idaho temple.

Favorite/most influential teacher
Ken Perry. He was my seminary teacher and my Bishop. He was huge influence for good in my later teens.
