Brenda Youngerman: Author Interview and 3 Book Giveaway

Welcome to Author Brenda Youngerman. Brenda is the author of 5 Books: Hidden Truths, Sorrowed Souls, Private Scars, Public Lives and her newest book Restored Hope. In 2011 she will release her 6th book Disrupted Lives.

I had the chance to ask Brenda some fun get to know you questions. She's also offered to send a copy of one of her books to 3 lucky winners.

First some fun interview questions:

If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future?
Oh.....definitely the past.....I think we have become WAY to dependent on technology and have forgotten the art of communication!

What is one book everyone should read?
Gone with the Wind. It has it all - from birth to death - unrequited love - war, peace - politics - Everything! Huge sigh!

What is the last movie you saw?
Alice in Wonderland.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose?
I would love to have the power to annihilate abusive people. Just walk right up to them, point my finger at them and make them disappear.

When you were 12 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?
A second grade teacher!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Chocolate Chip

If you could meet one person who has died who would you choose?
Abraham Lincoln

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Chocolate Chip Ice cream (tee hee hee)

Who is the target audience for your books?
Target audience.....anyone 15-99 - - - I don't really think these books are gender specific. - - BUT Restored Hope might be more female specific.
I would really like to get all of my books into the hands of 14-18 year olds, and have them realize that there is a whole world out there that they need to be aware of, but from a very fictional point of view these books are a good ride for anyone from 15-99.

Restored Hope is a family drama that follows the life of Camilla Miller. Born into what appears to be an idyllic family, with parents who are deeply in love with each other, it would seem that her like would be a peaceful one. The reality is things are not always as they appear. When tragedy and the resulting dysfunction strike, Camilla's world is thrown into turmoil. With the disintegration of her family a part of Camilla dies. She refuses to be called Camilla and takes on the name Samantha.

While reading Brenda Youngerman's novel I found myself wondering how I would respond if faced with similar tragedies. Would I shatter and break as some individuals in this book did or would I be able to put the tragedies behind me and start again? I found myself drawn into this story and rooting for Samantha to find peace and love in her life.

Ultimately this book has a message that we all need. We are not responsible for the actions of others, we can move on after tragedy and we should never stop hoping.
