Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice.
But just as life is returning to normal, Laurel discovers that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.
I thought this was a trilogy. I really enjoyed this but obviously there is a 4th book since it ended on a cliff hanger. I was thinking I'd have a series crossed off my to read list but looks like I'll be waiting another year for the 4th book.
There were several plot points that surprised me and Aprilynne did a great job of keeping me guessing where the story was heading. Although I must admit the love triangle is starting to annoy me - it's past time to decide. I certainly hope Laurel makes a choice at the beginning of the book instead of waffling back and forth through the entire book.
I'm looking forward to the next and I assume final book in the series. Although I hate cliffhanger endings, Illusions definitely set the stage for what I hope will be a great ending to the series.

I still need to read this one. I may wait though if it has a cliffhanger so I can jump right into the next book.

ReplyDeleteI... wasn't that thrilled with the second book but I trudged on with Illusions... and I'm still Team Tamani!
ReplyDeleteVery adorable blog header you have and those frogs are just too cute! I love reading new book recommendations since I just don't have time to browse through B&N anymore.
