2012 Young Adult & Middle Grade Debut Author Challenge
The only 2012 challenge I'm participating in is The Story Siren's Debut Author Challenge. There are tons of other great challenges out there that I would love to join but I'm just too busy to try to keep track of multiple challenges.
This is the 4th year Kristi has hosted this challenge. To participate you commit to read at least 12 Young Adult or Middle Grade debut books that are released in 2012. There are currently over 900 readers signed up to participate in this challenge.
I signed up for last year's 2011 challenge and barely made it. I think I read exactly a dozen 2011 debut books. Hopefully I'll get more than 12 read this year!
Starting this week I will also be hosting one or two of these authors on my blog each week. I've got a stack of 2012 debut author books sitting by my bed which I hope to get read and reviewed soon.
So which of these debut books are you most excited to read?
Which have you already read and loved?
As the year goes on and more debut books are announced or become available I'll try to update this list.

I have read Fracture and Incarnate and really liked those. Fracture really surprised me. I am currently reading Never Eighteen by Megan Bostic and loving it! Good luck on your challenge, Kathy :)

ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to Fracture. I've been hearing really good things about it.
ReplyDeleteThey all look interesting and I'd love to read them all

ReplyDeleteSooo looking forward to a ton of these books. I think The Gathering Storm is the one I'm most looking forward to--it's historical paranormal AND is set in Romanov-era Russia. I have a serious weakness for anything even mentioning the lost princess Anastasia (I know, I know, no longer lost, but I still chose to keep my fantasy world intact), so I added this one to my TBR pile the first moment I hear about it.

That's a great challenge! I am doing four challenges this year. Out of these I would say that I am looking forward to about 1/3 of them.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your challenge!
I signed up for this challenge. The first books on my to-read list are "The Queen of Kentucky" by Alecia Whitaker, "The Whole Story of Half a Girl" by Veera Hiranandani, "May B" by Caroline Starr Rose, and "Cinder" By Marissa Meyer.
ReplyDeleteSo how does one go about signing up for the challenge and joining, or was commenting the way?? JUst curious and excited

ReplyDeleteI missed signing up last year because I didn't know if I would want to do it and then by the time I decided to do it the deadline had passed. This year, I just signed up right away since I ended up reading more than the 12 required last year. I try to only buy books I know are good and clean, so I use the library and as long as the library gets in the books I need then I'll be good to go. Good luck to you!
