Since I can remember, books have been one of my loves. There was nothing better than picking up a story and finding myself in a new place and greeting new friends or becoming reacquainted with old ones. In the ninth grade, a friend and I decided to write a teenage romance together. My friend lost interest but it was the start of a lifelong passion for me. I served as a legal specialist with J.A.G. of the US Army and have also worked as a paralegal, a librarian, and a church secretary. Previously, I had three mystery novels published. My first novel, Parental Source, was a 2003 Library of Virginia Literary Award nominee.

Interview:
What is one book
everyone should read?
The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom
Please tell us
in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
It's an unusual and amusing blend of a
traditional detective novel and a paranormal mystery.
Any other books
in the works? Goals for future projects?
I'm working on the second book in the
Working Shadow series, Dying for
Perception, and also the third book in a romantic suspense series. One of
my goals is to publish my middle grade mystery which features a Casper-like
ghost who longs to be a Hardy Boy.
What inspired
you to want to become a writer?
Reading. Since I can remember I've loved
books. Growing up, books were like my family and friends and I could always
find solace in them. I admired writers and one day wanted to be one of the
people that allowed others to have, for a moment, another life.
What was your
favorite book when you were a child/teen?
The Hardy Boys
Is there a song
you could list as the theme song for your book or any of your characters?
If I could have a theme song for Dying
for Redemption ... for the Working Shadow series ... it would be I Am an Illusion by Rob Thomas.
What's one piece
of advice you would give aspiring authors?
This is something one of my wonderful
editors told me (I'm luck right now to be working with two wonderful editors
for the two series I have out) ... Write for the reader. Write for the story.
Don't let grammar and writing rules define the sentence. Let the story do the
work.
Can you see
yourself in any of your characters?
Yes, and sometimes it's not a good
thing.
What do you do
in your free time?
Recently, it's been playing either Angry
Birds or Fruit Ninja. I've been itching though to get back into quilting and
scrapbooking.
What's your
favorite season/weather?
Christmas. I love the lights and
decorations.
Favorite places
to travel?
Disney World.
Print or Ebook?
I'll take books in any form.
Regular or Diet?
Diet
Coke or Pepsi?
Coke
Favorite quote
from a movie?
From the Princess Bride: You keep using
that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Dying for Redemption
Two bullets in the back give PI Callous Demar an address change to Limbo, and life after death takes on a whole new meaning. Not wanting to indulge in his forced early retirement, Callous opens shop to help the recently murdered.
When a dame walks into his office, he thinks solving her murder will be a piece of cake, as his two prime suspects are the butler and the husband. He soon discovers the case is far more complicated than he suspected.
Callous finds his carefree attitude further challenged when he must also find the killer of his grandniece, whose murder might be tied to his own.
