Welcome to the Jane Austen Giveaway Hop
Featuring Jane Austen Inspired Books
October 19th to 24th
Hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer & vvb32reads
For this hop I've invited Author Jenni James to do an interview and then her publisher Inkberry Press has agreed to giveaway 9 copies of books from her Jane Austen Diaries Series!
Welcome back to Author Jenni James
I'm married to a totally hot, redheaded Air Force Recruiter, named Mark. Together we have 10 kiddos (7 ours, 3 fostered). We have just moved back to the States after living 9 awesome years in the Azores Islands of Portugal and England! Our kids love the USA. When I'm not writing up a storm, I enjoy reading, acting, portrait painting, directing plays, cooking, planning elaborate parties and chasing my kids around the house.

Interview:
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I love cookies and cream… it’s also my favorite cake—well, ice cream cake. ;)
Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
My books are clean, happy fiction for teens that no one dies in—gasp!—as in, you’re actually happier when you finish the book than when you started it. ßgroundbreaking stuff right there.
Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
All of my characters have a little bit of me in them, that’s the best part about writing, you get to relive and explore so much of yourself.
Favorite Food?
I am a Mexican food girl all the way! Yummy! I love to cook it too. J
If you could have a signed copy of any novel what would it be and why?
An original Jane Austen novel. Any of them. Holy cow that would be AMAZING!!! (and um, cause I’m a jane austen nut, obviously. J)
What do you do in your free time?
Free time? What is this thing you speak of? I’ve never heard of it! Lol! Actually, I have seven kids, there isn’t much free time available. However, I do love to take myself out
Who or what inspired you to become an author?
A 17-yr-old Mr. Darcy, aks Taylor Anderson. He wouldn’t leave me alone, he kept talking to me in my head for days, so finally I decided I better sit down and write his story out. I had no idea I was writing Pride & Popularity, but I’m so glad I listened to him and began writing, or I would never have done it at all and found out I absolutely LOVE writing. J
How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
With my first royalties check I bought a car! Wahoo! J It’s cute too.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Sleep. Naps. Snoozes. Need I say more?
Favorite places to travel?
I love traveling back to England. I lived there for 5 years and I miss it a lot. It keeps me sane to step on the British soil every now and then. J
TV or Movies?
Oh, movies, hands down! I never watch TV but I LOVE movies. J
Horror or Romance?
Romance all the way, I just love romantical things.
Pizza or Pasta?
PIZZA! I’m not much of a pasta girl, but I love to cook it! Lol!
Beach or Pool?
Eeep. I LOVE water. Though I do miss the ocean…
Apples or Oranges?
I love oranges, any citrus, especially lemons and grapefruit. However, if the apple is green and has caramel over it… move over orange! Lol!
Favorite quote from a movie?
“Never give up, never surrender!” from Galaxy Quest, or “When I meet a stranger, I expect them to act a little strange.” Sydney White
What is you favorite way to spend a rainy day?
Typing up a new story! Love to create when it’s rainy.
Pride & Popularity
***AUTHOR'S DISCLAIMER***
If you are hoping to find a YA book full of paranormal beasts, sex, or teens who act much more like under-aged adults, I suggest you save your money and do not buy this book. In fact don't buy any of The Jane Austen Diaries. However, if you are looking for a clean, lighthearted, sweet romance, where teens are good and happy and normal--like all of the teens I know (including my own!) then read on. You've come to the right place. :) --Jenni
Chloe Elizabeth Hart despises the conceited antics of the popular crowd, or more importantly, one very annoying self-possessed guy, Taylor Anderson, who seems determined to make her the president of his fan club! As if! Every girl in the whole city of Farmington, New Mexico, is in love with him, but he seems to be only interested in Chloe.
This modern high school adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice” is a battle of wits as Chloe desperately tries to remain the only girl who can avoid the inevitable—falling for Taylor.
Northanger Alibi
The Russo family and Seattle, WA are no match for Claire Hart and her savvy knowledge of all things vampire related. Thanks to her obsession with the Twilight series, if there is anyone who would know a vampire when she saw one, it's Claire. And she's positive totally hot Tony Russo is a vampire--she just has to prove it. In this modern retelling of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey, follow Claire's hilarious journey on her first summer adventure away from home, where she learns everything isn't what it seems, and that in some instances, reality is way better than anything she'd ever find in a book.
Persuaded
Will he take her back, or fling her aside like she deserves?
Three years ago Amanda made the biggest mistake of her life when she let her friends persuade her to reject the guy she loved. They were convinced he was a loser and wasn't good enough for her.
Now Gregory's back in Farmington . . . taller, stronger, hotter than ever, and worth millions. Those gorgeous girls who snubbed him before are now falling at his feet and he's enjoying every moment of it.
Can he see past the pain Amanda caused him and give her a second chance? Or will she forever regret losing the only guy who truly loved her?

Hopped in to say thank you for the giveaway! Large families are awesome! I am 2nd of 10 kids. And there are currently 22 grandchildren and growing! Never a dull moment!
ReplyDeleteI have read two of the three books of Jenni's. I really enjoyed the first two and I encourage my 15 year old granddaughter to read them so we have something to enjoy together. I am missing "Persuaded" and truly hope to have this one in my hot little hands soon. It sounds most like what i enjoy. I think this is a great idea to put Austen's works into a format that draws in new readers aka our youth. I only have one question. Claire is only 16 and Tony is only 17 - how can he make the choice to move to AZ to go to college where Claire lives? How can they think this will work with such young naive youth? A first crush type relationship usually doesn't last forever. I know this is fiction but can we have them be a little older? Let's say 18 at least? Of course I know in the original Northanger Catherine was young but Henry was not.
ReplyDeleteI just want to say, I love Jenni James books of this series and have already read and bought them all. So I guess, I didn't enter this^^
