Interview:
If you could invite any 5 people to dinner who would you choose?
  • Hugh Jackman, George Clooney, Nigella, JK Rowling, Michael Buble
If you were a superhero what would your name be?
  • Future Girl (because I’m in Australia, I’m always a day ahead of USA and one of the lovely Entangled authors bestowed this nickname on me!)
Night owl, or early bird?
  • I run around after my kids all day so my writing ‘day’ starts around 8.30pm so I’m definitely a night owl. Considering my preschooler pries my eyelids open at the crack of dawn most mornings, I guess I’m an enforced early bird too!
Pet Peeves?
  • Fake friends, people who interrupt while talking,
Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
  • ‘Sex & the City’ meets ‘Eat, Pray, Love’, a hilarious romp through Mumbai and NYC filled with secrets, spices and sizzle!
Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
  • I’m working on number 31 & 32 for Harlequin Mills and Boon, while writing another YA.
Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.
  • Hitting the USA TODAY bestseller list was really rewarding. I’ll never get tired of seeing that label on my books.
If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world, which would it be?
  • Would have to be Harry Potter’s world. So vivid and exciting!
What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?
  • I absolutely adored Enid Blyton’s The Magic Faraway Tree. How I longed to climb that ladder to the top of the tree and see what mystical, magical land was at the top each day.
Favorite Food?
  • Anything Indian
What do you do in your free time?
  • My first response to this is ‘what free time’ as I’m constantly running after kids, running a home or running ragged! When I do occasionally sit down, I’m a cliché: I love to read.
Who or what inspired you to become an author?
  • My high school English teacher, Joy Carver, was amazing. I fully credit my love of writing to her. She encouraged and nurtured my writing, she was wonderful.
How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?
  • I would’ve bungee jumped but I was 5 months pregnant at the time (kidding! About the bungee jump!) Instead, took hubby and my folks out for a posh Chinese dinner at an inner city hotel and splurged on a Tag Heuer watch I’d coveted for years.
What is your guilty pleasure?
  • Anything involving chocolate!
Finish the sentence- one book I wish I had written is....
  • The Hunger Games.  Simply, wow!
Favorite places to travel?
  • Love anywhere hot and tropical (eg. Bali) Adore the vibe of Italy: Rome, Venice, Capri.

Busted in Bollywood
Shari Jones needs to get a life. Preferably someone else’s.
Single, homeless and jobless, Indo‐American Shari agrees to her best friend’s whacky scheme: travel to Mumbai, pose as Amrita, and ditch the fiancé her traditional Indian parents have chosen. Simple. Until she’s mistaken for a famous Bollywood actress, stalked by a Lone Ranger wannabe, courted by an English lord, and busted by the blackmailing fiancé.
Life is less complicated in New York.
Or so she thinks, until the entourage of crazies follows her to the Big Apple and that’s when the fun really begins. Shari deals with a blossoming romance, an addiction to Indian food and her first movie role, while secretly craving another trip to the mystical land responsible for sparking her new lease on life. Returning to her Indian birthplace, she has an epiphany. Maybe the happily‐ever‐after of her dreams isn’t so far away?

  5. My dad introduced me to Bollywood films a few years back, Karen, and watching the vibrant colour, dancing, romance, drama and theatrics inspired me to write Busted in Bollywood.

And yes, every book is an achievement. I still pinch myself I'm published when each book is released :)
