My transfer to Wordpress is done! 3418 posts were imported to the new blog. However due to the size of the import I opted to leave the 25,000+ comments on this blogger blog and not import them to wordpress. All new comments on the Wordpress site will be approved assuming they are not spam.
I'm not done designing and updating the wordpress blog but I have a good start on it.
This will be one of the lasts posts that goes up on this blog http://iamareadernotawriter.blogspot.com.
From here on out please visit http://www.iamareader.com for new posts. Please be aware it can take up to 72 hours for your internet provider to find the new site. If you get an error message check back because it should be up soon.
Please be aware I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to updating links. Wordpress uses a different permalink system so there will likely be a lot of 404 error pages for a while.

ReplyDeleteThere used to be a plug in you could run that would fix all your links...I can't remember what it was called though...it has been while since I did my transfer.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someone else will know. It made it a lot easier to transfer.
Kathy did you DIY the move or did you pay someone to move your blog over from Blogger to WP? I'm looking at doing the same thing but I want to move my design over as well, which it seems will cost me $150 + $50 to move the blog contents over.
ReplyDeleteI did it myself.... I still spent quite a chunk of change to move it. I purchased a theme and then had to pay for hosting.
