I used to get audiobooks from my library and occasionally still do. However I've found audiobooks on CD have become a little annoying. You have to have a CD player to haul around with you and they often have scratches so I end up missing a section of the story.
Digital downloads are so much better! I can put them on my MP3 player or iPod and can now download them straight to my cell phone. They play right on the computer too so while I'm blogging and emailing I can be listening to an audiobook too.
The best place I've found to get them is Audible.com! They have lot of options available so whether you are looking for just one title or hoping to regularly listen to audio-books they have something for everyone.

My daughter hates to read and rarely ever does on her own but she will listen to audiobooks. She has fabulous comprehension which I attribute to years of listening to audiobooks. There is always a book playing somewhere in my house.

This post made me happy! I also love audiobooks! Especially when you get a great narrator- I'm in an addictive phase right now we're I've been listening to audio-biographies. There's something so great about hearing a person's story from their own lips.
ReplyDeleteI've really gotten into audio books too. As far as the ones from the library you can still put them on your iPod. Plus some libraries have downloads you can check out for 7-14 days. Take a look at overdrive.com to see if you have a library near you.
ReplyDeleteooooohh.. definitely will check them out. Sometimes i have no time to pick up a book, but I could listen to one of the way to class!! :)
ReplyDeletethanks. :)
I feel the same way! I would never make it through so many books a year without audio books. I love them dearly and they get me through my work day and long car ride to and from work. I, however, have to use a CD player at work for security reasons and rely on the library for many of my audio books. Otherwise I would probably use Audible more. :o) Thanks for the great audiobook post!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE audiobooks! I listen to books while I workout. Makes me actually WANT to workout just so I can listen. My library has a lot of those little players with the book already loaded plus they offer the downloads for mp3 that expire after a few weeks. I like to grab the CD's from places like Half Price books, and then I use Itunes to convert them and load them onto my ipod. I have no music on my ipod. Just books. Great post!
