ReplyDeleteYou talked about some things that were HEAVY on my mind about Indie Authors!
I've had a few that WERE rushed, that had Mom, the next-door-neighbor, and a local Librarian be the Editor!!! It's been AWFUL!!! It seems like NOW that ANYONE can publish a book, we are getting the people who 'think' they are writer's and can write an OUTSTANDING book. Well, they CAN'T!
Unfortunately, I DID agree to read and review their books, ONLY because of my support of Indie Authors, and their books have literally stunk. I'm SORRY to make that statement, but it's my HONEST opinion. Now I have to write the reviews. I am going to be honest like I have been ALL along. They are NOT going to like what I have to say, and maybe that should tell them that they are NOT that great of a writer! Hint, hint! I've had conversation with them suggesting they HIRE an Editor, and more. Still, they REFUSE!!! They ARE in a HUGE rush to get those books published! Why? When it's shoddy work, WHY do you want that book published?? It's a reflection on themselves! THEY are going to call themselves an AUTHOR????

I learned a LOT about you! I'm SOOOO glad that I as well have MANY books given to me for review, and I don't always get to them, either! Thank YOU SO MUCH for saying that!!! There are many reasons for not reading them, or FOR reading them. Toooo many to state exactly what those reasons are here, but we, as reviewers, do know!
