Author Interview & Book Giveaway: Maycly by Janet Beasley

Welcome to Author Janet Beasley

Janet was born and raised in Ohio. She and her husband, Don, moved to Florida in the 1980's to not only escape the cold winters, but to also pursue their careers as live event and production specialists. It was through their parent company, Multi-Tech Productions, Inc, that Janet's creativity was given free reign to soar. She was published in trade specific magazines, published non-fiction books, spoke at international conferences nationwide, and developed training classes pertaining to technical theater applications. When chronic illness stopped her in her tracks, it didn't stop her as a creative genius. Once she was back on her feet she took over the family gourmet dog treat business and expanded it by adding a full scale bakery to the already established "BARK"-ery. Again she collapsed, and again she didn't let it keep her down. Her creativity crested new horizons, and after putting herself through schooling at age 49 she became an epic fantasy author. Volume 1 - Maycly in her HIDDEN EARTH series was an eight year project brought to fruition by her determination, dedication, and zest for life! Janet and Don still reside in Florida. Janet is a dog lover who enjoys tandem kayaking, photographing nature, and baking cupcakes.

Interview:
If you could travel in a Time Machine would you go back to the past or into the future? 

I would definitely travel into the future. I wouldn't change a thing about my past as it's all been a great ride and learning experience.

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you? 

My husband, my dog, and my iPad

If you were a superhero what would your name be? 

Captain Creative

If you could have any superpower what would you choose? 

The power to rid the world of mean people by making them nice.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book. 

If you read my book you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll maybe even say "awwww," but best of all you'll find characters, Earthly or Mayclysian, with whom you can relate.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects? 

Maycly Parts 1, 2, and 3 is Volume 1 in the Hidden Earth Series. Maycly itself is not just a novel, but a an entire package! There are two companion books: a full color illustration book complete with detailed descriptions of the animals, plants, and more. It is titled "The Chukkons Say, 'Ye Need ta Be a-seein' Maycly." It is slated for a mid May release and will be available on Amazon. The second companion book to Maycly is a full blown cook book filled with the restaurants, owners' histories, menus, and recipes from Maycly - all edible right here on Earth. It is titled "More Than Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup," and is slated for a late summer 2012 release. It will also be available on Amazon. There is a Maycly paraphernalia online shop where fans can purchase the latest trends boasting many of their favorite characters, plants, and animals of Maycly - both good and evil (visit through the Hidden Earth Series website). As far as the Hidden Earth Series's future, fans will be happy to know there are five more novels to follow Maycly - Volume 2 has a hopeful release sometime late 2013.

What do you do in your free time? 

My husband and I enjoy tandem kayaking the crystal clear, spring fed rivers of Florida. I love to shoot scenic nature photographs. My photos are one way I enjoy "giving back" to my fans - they can find my pics on Flickr and download as many as they want for free! (Thanks fans - you're the best on the planet!)
